Name: Roger L Nesbitt Jr  Email Address:

Subject: J.O. and John Nesbitt

The two mentioned in the subject are my great grandfather and his twin. They farmed close to Attica NY. My great grandfather wrote journals and ledgers that started in the mid 1800s and went into the 1930s. My great grandmother was Amelia. They had two children - Henry A and Blanche. Blanche never married was a school teacher in Wyoming county. Henry was vice president for a power company in South Dakota. They moved back to Dale valley Ny. Their children were Tracy, Raymond, Merle and Roger. My grandfather married Ora Winchester. In my generation I am the oldest of Roger and I am Roger Jr., sisters Ann Deckerhoff, Joyce Ansley, Bruce Nesbitt. We all live in Florida. Now we are grandparents.

Name: James Nisbet  Email Address:

Subject: My family

I always thought my branch of the family originated in Dundee but how wrong was i. Dunfermline,
Inverkeithing and Carnock have all featured in the early years. I was even able to track down a
relation in California, he was very surpassed when i called him one Sunday afternoon but it just
shows how the Nisbet's have travelled. there appears to have been others travelling to America, not
so easy to conclude their lines but one keep trying.

Name: Glen Nesbitt  Email Address:

Subject: NESBITT: Samuel and Gerton

I tried tracing Nesbitt. I got as far as my great great grandfather Samuel Nesbitt (b. 1835-1865), father of my great grandfather Gurton or Gerton Nesbitt (b. 1879-1900), father of my grandfather Mark (b. 1914?), father of Donald (b. 1942 Youngstown OH) father of me, Glen (b. 1969 Long Beach CA). Gerton is such an odd name. If correct, it is Swedish in origin. Can't be sure if my Samuel Nesbitt is the same as any of the many Samuel Nesbitts listed here, but if you have a Gerton in your Nesbitt family, write me! I want to find out if we come from Scottish or Irish Nesbitts. PS. My father and I are also related to Bridget Jennings (Ireland) and Anna Palumbo (Sicily) and Campanezi (Englishized spelling of Italian name).

Name: Janis Nesbitt Smith  Email Address:

Subject: Nesbitts in Ohio

I can trace my Nesbitt family back to John Nesbitt who settled in Gallia Co Ohio. His son,
Robert Martin was my great grandfather. Robert Martin, a veteran of the Civil War, married
Emma Susan Sweigert. At some point, they moved to Colony, KS where they are both buried.
Looking for information about this John Nesbitt and his history.

Name: Sam Orsak  Email Address:

Subject: A.R. Nisbet & Sons, San Angelo, TX

I worked for Walker Nisbet on Saturdays in 1963, cleaning up the shop. At
least two of my uncles worked for the Nisbets starting about 1956 and one
uncle was the last employee that closed down the business when Walker died.
I was looking for some history of the A.R. Nisbet Co. and saw that they had
made bug catchers. When I worked there they made agriculture seed drills
and were prototyping decorative enclosed fireplaces. I left in 1965. I
went back to Mathis field where they were located and there is nothing but
the concrete foundations now. At one time they were a fair sized company.
My uncles were welders and fabricators. If you know a history of A.R.
Nisbet & Sons let me know. Thanks, Sam
